Drinks Dispense Group has adopted a more formal approach to streamline working practices.
The Japanese 5S scheme, which relates to five separate disciplines; Sort (seiri), Set in order (Seiton), Shine (seiso), Standardise (seiketsu) and Sustain (shitsuke), provides a methodology for organising, clearing, developing and sustaining a productive and more effective work environment.
All areas of the business are looked at, with a particular focus on the production area. Work stations are audited and the 5 fundamentals of the system embraced ensuring a more efficient and above all safer workplace.
DDg Operations Director Peter North commented: “The overall aim is to instigate a cultural change to enable us to achieve a more effective operation, reduce waste and downtime as well as improving the working environment for our employees.”
“We are confident that it will lead to increased productivity within DDg and benefit the company.”
